In this article Andrew Vest discusses tips on how to effectively network. He stresses the importance of taking everyone’s opinions as valuable and not dismissing anyone as important. He also says to not have a mindset of what people can do for you but what you can do for other people. Instead of trying to build your resume you should work on building lasting, loyal relationships.

In this article Bianca Male talks about the importance of knowing the right people as that could get you places you could not get too otherwise. She also mentions that networking takes practice, the more you do it the better at you will be. Being visible is also important for example having a LinkedIn account where people can easily find you. It also important once you have a networking group, to make sure it is as diverse as possible and to maintain it but she also says if it does fall apart to not hesitate to rekindle the relationships you once had. She also mentions giving back to people not only thinking what people can do for you but what you can do for other people and not to ask for something from someone you just met.

This article talks about the ways you can strategize your career as if it were a business. Analyzing the market you are going into can help with your success in it. It is important to take into account how fast or slow your career field is growing, how big it is and what the trends are. it is also important to look at your competitors. Knowing what type of people applying to the same jobs you are can help with knowing you have enough credentials to be taken seriously. Thinking about what quality you have that sets you apart from everyone else is also very important to take into consideration as uniqueness is a great asset to many employers. Lastly, it is important to take into account if you have enough financial resources to excel for example having enough money for a startup or paying for tuition.

In this book, Rochelle Roots talks about planning your long-term goals from a Christian point of view but her tips can be applied to everyone. She believes in praying to God about your goals but anyone else can talk to their loved ones about their goals as verbalizing your goals outlaid can motivate you to put them into action. She also suggests planning what and when your long term goals are, they can be in the next 2 years or the next 20 years. Writing down your goals is also a good way to achieve them as you can visually see what needs to be done. But she suggests that when writing your goals down to be super specific for example do not just write that you want to spend more time with family, but that you will have dinner with them at least 5 times a week. Lastly, she stresses how important it is to not give up and that it will take time to achieve your goals.
